Steven Gerrard has been voted Liverpool's number one player of all time.
Gerrard: "I feel very flattered and honoured."
"I think people have maybe recency bias, is it called, where I've played in the recent generations, if you like."
"But there've been some incredible players before me and after me, so I'm extremely flattered and humble. Thank you."
"We've had unbelievable players, teams. I think sometimes, and I do it more now since I've retired, you sit back and realise who you've played for, how lucky we are to be part of this club and family and stuff.
"I appreciate it even more now than when I played.
"I mean, wow… I didn't expect that, by the way. I didn't expect that.
Arsène Wenger endured selling Arsenal’s best players while financing a new stadium, leaving little room to compete in the transfer market. Yet he still guided the club to 20 consecutive Champions League qualifications. An extraordinary achievement. Legend 👏
@Fahad_Algathami@AlNassrFC No no self respecting manager with any ambition is going to Saudi unless they're chasing money. Martinez is crap but so is the SPL
Dear Al-Nassr Club Officials
We the loyal fans of Al-Nassr respectfully but firmly express our total rejection of appointing Roberto Martinez as the new head coach.
This decision does not reflect the ambitions or expectations of the club’s supporters. We urge you to reconsider and choose a coach who truly matches the level and vision of Al-Nassr.
Thank you for your understanding and attention With respect

🚨 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟: A street in New York has been renamed in honour of Thierry Henry ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The French legend, who lifted the World Cup with France in 1998, has been recognised with the intersection of 50th Street and Sixth Avenue officially designated as "Thierry Henry Way."
Henry spent 4 years with the New York Red Bulls after joining the MLS club in 2010, scoring 52 goals in 135 appearances during his time in the United States.
@ChelsTransfer I don't think theres a striker on earth that would fit in the Chelsea or arsenal team? The way both teams play just dosnt suit an out and out striker??
Joe Cole: “It’s just a matter of the wages and the valuation. Rashford ticks a lot of boxes, but you don’t want to spend a fortune on him – he’d do a good job for Chelsea.
He needs to keep going, Marcus; he needs to keep his confidence up because he rebuilt himself at Barcelona, and there’s still another level for him to jump to.
He’s someone Chelsea should inquire about, but it’ll depend on the deal.”

Van Dijk on being the only outfield player in the Premier League to play every minute last season: “That’s quite remarkable. When I heard that I thought it was quite interesting.
“But yes, it’s the best thing there is, playing matches. And I do everything for that and I want to keep doing it at the highest level.”
@eurofootcom How naive of De Bruyne to join Napoli in the first place. He didn't anticipate this with Conte? He's just trying to engineer his way out now
🇧🇪🗣️ Kevin De Bruyne: "Obviously, it was difficult for me because Antonio Conte has a very different vision of football compared to mine. I never had the chance to play in my favourite position. But anyway, I've always given everything for the team."
"Will I stay at Napoli? I think it's important to talk about the style of play. This year I realised that the style of play is very important to me. I still have a year of contract, but I want to talk about it." (Nieuwsblad via Il Mattino)
🚨🇪🇸 Sources close to Marc Cucurella and Chelsea have said of his desire to depart the club before the start of the new season. As for Chelsea, they will allow Cucurella to leave should they receive an appropriate offer.

Marc Cucurella has only got 2 years remaining on his contract now. If Xabi Alonso wants to use wing-backs, that role isn’t for this left back. He did not seemed too bothered amid Chelsea’s plight, including their utterly unserious showing away at Sunderland. (via @kierangill_DM)
007 First Light is being called journo game and getting huge backlash after gamers shared gameplay clips completing driving sections by simply holding one button while the game does almost everything.
The criticism got even bigger because IO Interactive talked for years about how important the driving mechanics were for the Bond experience.
So people expected something deeper, especially from the studio behind Hitman, which is known for giving players freedom.
