Courts preside over legal decisioning, in corporate governance accountability has a broader relationship based definition. So yes it is for partners to decide

All performing corporation consider accountability within their mission, vision, values or strategy. Good governance dictates that corporations understand the impacts and associated risk profile and mitigate.

@andreacarey @scotiabank I disagree. Corporations are part of important change and this sponsorship decision required guts. Accountability is not for corporations to decide (in this case it will be potentially the court) but this action is entirely appropriate and meets the moment.

@Mtbbmet @MarkCavendish @PatLefevere I kinda disagree. He runs a Belgium team with largely Belgium sponsors, I think the Belgium pride in Merckx plays into the decision very profoundly.

I struggle with the reality that in Canada it is acceptable that a sport leader be ignorant of para sport, the needs of athletes with a disability, & the need for parity of esteem and respect to able bodied compatriots.
