The salary growth of entry level Group A officers has barely moved over the years. From 57k in 2016 to 88k in 2025. The pace is abysmally low and does not match the real inflation. High time the govt considers revising the cpc to every 5 years instead of existing 10.

Realistic figures for 8th Pay Commission for fitment factor (1.96-2.02) 7th CPC minimum = ₹ 18,000 → 8th CPC (1.96×) = ₹ 35,280 → 8th CPC (2.02×) = ₹ 36,360 7th CPC max = ₹ 2,50,000 → 8th CPC (1.96×) = ₹ 4,90,000 → 8th CPC (2.02×) = ₹ 5,05,000

8th CPC so far: The Union Cabinet cleared the formation of the 8th CPC in January 2025. The Terms of Reference (ToR) for the 8th CPC have now been approved. The 8th CPC is expected to cover: pay, allowances, pensions and other benefits for govt employees and pensioners.
