The appeal process has concluded and final decisions have been made, bringing my campaign for County Commission to an end. I respect the final decision, though I sincerely hope that in the future the process continues to be refined with greater clarity and consistency.
Thank you to my friends, family, and the many supporters who stood with me throughout this campaign. Your encouragement and belief meant more than I can express. While this chapter has come to a close, the time has come to move forward.
While this campaign has ended, my commitment has not. I remain a proud conservative Republican dedicated to the principles that define our party — strong support for law enforcement, fiscal responsibility, lower taxes, accountable government, and traditional values.
I will remain engaged, continue advocating for those principles, and proudly support and work tirelessly for the success of the entire Shelby County Republican ticket in the upcoming elections.

For the record, I am not accusing anyone of wrongdoing.
However, in most professional organizations, ethical guardrails exist for a reason. One of the most basic of those safeguards is recusal when a potential conflict of interest exists — not because misconduct is presumed, but because public confidence matters.
It is a matter of public record that Terry Roland is business partners with Rhonda O’Dell — who would have been my opponent in the Republican primary — and with Dawn Kincaid, who serves as treasurer for Derek Mills’ campaign. Derek Mills is running against Justin Johnson, who was also removed from the ballot.
Again, I am not alleging improper intent or actions.
But when a voting member involved in determining ballot eligibility maintains active business relationships connected to affected campaigns — especially when that business is engaged in economic development consulting, a field that regularly intersects with local government leadership and public policy — reasonable observers will naturally ask whether recusal should have been considered.
In corporate governance, nonprofit boards, and public bodies, even the appearance of a conflict is often enough to warrant stepping aside. Not because someone has done something wrong — but because protecting institutional credibility is paramount.
When ballot access decisions are made by a small group, transparency and strict ethical guardrails become even more important.
Public trust is not preserved merely by asserting fairness.
It is preserved by demonstrating it.
And that is the standard voters deserve.

🤠 Shelby County’s gotten too wild — lawlessness, waste, and corruption.
I’m a police officer, husband, father, and conservative fighter running for Shelby County Commission District 1 in the Republican primary on May 5, 2026.
Public safety comes first.
I humbly ask for your support — and your prayers — as we protect the place we call home. 💙

Scott the Cat here. 🐾
This is how it started…
John (way too casually):
“Soooo… how are you with heights?”
Me:
“Meh… never really bothered me…
…wait. Why?”
Next thing I know, I’m jumping out of a perfectly good airplane with a Covington District 1 parachute like it’s a normal Wednesday. 🪂
Let’s be honest—I usually won’t even jump off the couch without a risk assessment and snack incentive.
The things I do for this guy!
Vote May 5th so I can get back to naps and treats. 😼

And let me be very clear:
I am not a yes-cat.
At our weekly strategy sessions, I give John the unfiltered truth—
no hairballs, no fluff, no excuses.
If an idea’s weak, I knock it off the table.
If it’s strong, it earns a slow blink of approval. 😼
That’s why he trusts my advice.
Accountability matters. 🐾
