Took us a long time to find Samarth. I interviewed over 100 designers and couldn't find the right fit. Then, samarth shows up. Immediately his taste and skill level was obvious. He kills the live figma interview. Shows me his moodboard and i ask him for a copy.
Now after having him here for a short while, his explorations, experiences, and final designs have this feeling of craft deserving of the title. I hate to admit it but he's a better designer than me...

Months back, we committed to investing $100M in AI research. Today, we have two big updates on that front. We’re excited to share that DeepMind alum @Drew_Jaegle has joined @getcaptionsapp as our Head of AI, and we’ve acquired @alpacaml. At DeepMind, Drew led efforts on multimodal representation and generative models for music and creative tools, developing the Perceiver family of architectures, and building the AI music generation model, Lyria. Drew’s leadership will be pivotal as we expand our team of 15 talented researchers. The acquisition of AlpacaML will allow us to continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible with generative video. The team raised $4.2M in seed funding led by @IndexVentures, and built an AI rendering engine that transforms visuals, thumbnails, and images into concept sketches. We’re thrilled to have @wbuchw, the CEO, and other alumni joining Captions.
