Phillippe Aumont, who hasn’t pitched professionally since 2019, closed out the game for Canada today. He retired from baseball, bought a 220-acre farm in Gatineau, Quebec, so that he could enjoy life with his family. Told Baseball Canada to call him whenever they needed him. 🇨🇦

Congratulations to @juliagosling88 - Class of 2024 - who was selected to the 2026 Team Canada Olympic roster for the upcoming Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, announced this afternoon. “What an accomplishment for Julia. She has worked so hard for this moment and has been rewarded for her efforts,” said Chris Wells. “It was a joy having her at SLU and all the things she was able to accomplish as an individual and as the captain of our team. This year in Seattle, her level of play and improvement gave her an excellent opportunity for Hockey Canada to take notice!”

I’ve always wanted to see a CBL, and reclassifying an existing league gives it a foundation of teams in a realistic footprint for travel. I got my start as a writer in the IBL when I was 14. It was a much different league back then. This is best-case scenario for its growth! 🔥

A few days late on this, but it’s just so cool. The fact that a majority of owners have bought into turning the IBL into a professional league speaks volumes to the health of the circuit, and its future. Look forward to following the @CBL1919 this year!
