We’re continuing our preparation work ahead of the A66 NTP project. We'll be carrying out vegetation clearance using overnight lane closures on the A66 eastbound. We'll be working from 16 February to 25 February, 8pm-5am. Thanks for your patience during these works.

We'll be removing the 40mph speed limit to assist the flow of traffic around Penrith during the M6 closures this weekend. The roadworks will be removed between M6 junction 40 and Center Parcs from 9 January. The roadworks will be put back in place on 13 January.

We’re continuing our enabling works along various sections of the A66. This includes vegetation clearance, utility diversions and installation of work accesses. These activities will be carried out in phases over the coming months, with careful planning to minimise disruption.

The eastbound carriageway on the A66 near Penrith will be reduced to one lane tonight and tomorrow (Tuesday and Wednesday) to allow investigations to the drainage. Please allow additional time for your journey.

🐦🦇🌳We've been installing bird and bat boxes to protect and enhance local biodiversity around the #A66NTP scheme. These provide safe nesting and roosting spaces for when habitat removal and/or disturbance is unavoidable

We had a brilliant STEM afternoon at @asby endowed primary school! After learning about the A66 NTP project, pupils built bridges from recycled materials to hold the heaviest load. Future engineers in action! 🛠️🌉

Engaging the future generations We’ve been revisiting some local high schools and colleges across the area to talk about our degree apprenticeship and graduate opportunities across the #A66NTP. At the A66 NTP project, we’re committed to investing in the next generation.

A66 team had a hoot visiting the World Owl Trust We've been helping the World Owl Trust on the #A66NTP scheme prepare their new centre in Penrith. We helped to take down aviaries and remove a pond and equipment from a former reptile room. We made a feathered friend too!
