Applications for @AAEDC’s Empire Towers Disaster Recovery Grant are due by this Friday, July 24, at 5 pm.

The Agricultural and Woodland Preservation Program was created in the 1990s under County Executive Janet Owens - with a lot of input from my father. Alongside two state programs, it’s protected 14,900 acres of privately owned land in our country through purchased easements.

The county will receive regular updates on this work and will continue to update our residents and local businesses as new information becomes available.

Today the county received an updated timeline regarding the remediation work at Empire Towers. The owner is working with a licensed structural engineering firm that has evaluated the site, and their contractor plans to begin remediation soon.

@ACDSinc ACDS and our interagency review committee have done an outstanding job of selecting grantees and monitoring their performance. I hope that this program continues in the future.

Yesterday morning, I joined @ACDSinc to announce that 69 local nonprofit organizations received a combined total of $2 million in funding through the Anne Arundel County Community Support Grant (CSG) Program.
