The Premier League has served a decent level of jeopardy this season. Its sponsors must be happy. The previous two seasons had the three promoted teams going back down to the Championship. This season, two of them have stayed up. At least a European champion in the last five years will get relegated. Two big clubs in the capital. Two massive grounds too. The race at the summit is still hot with two games to go. European places are still up for grabs. There’s fortune and doom waiting at the end of the season, for different teams. That’s what the Premier League has always sold. It has its juice back.

Arsenal weren’t pulling goalkeeper shirts and placing an elbow on the keeper’s neck. This wasn’t just crowding. It was a foul!

Arsenal haven't lost a game this season in the UCL. That loss won't come in the final.

Leave banter aside, Arsenal winning the Premier League is good for public health. It’s good for the culture. It’s good for the society. It’s good for academics. There’s so much to take from it. So many opportunities will come from it. Arsenal are a cultural club with a universal reach. If Arsenal win the Premier League, they should collate all the reactions from the world. It will be beautiful. It’s for generations. The streets of the world are Arsenal’s home. From Legba, a carpenter in Sagamu, to the President of a country, there’s a great deal of people invested in this team’s success. They’ve been through the pain. They’ve felt the touch of ignominy. They’ve felt agony. They’ve patted themselves to sleep, and woke with renewed belief. It’s interesting what a simple game can do to you. It’s just football. But it’s also not just football. It’s a collective sense of belonging. It’s pride. It’s emotional investment. It’s opportunities. It’s resilience. A lot of transferable traits and qualities picked from a simple game. The race is not over and I hope Arsenal enjoy the rest of it now. They’ve suffered. We’ve suffered. These three or five games to the end of the season? Enjoy every bit of it.

In a situation where both Arsenal and Man City tie on Points, Goal differences, wins and draws. Who get crowned as Premier League champions in that case?

Hi @victorosimhen9 thank you for bringing smiles to faces and being a good man. God bless you. I have a request. I'll be very happy if you grant me the audience to sit with you, and share in your journey. I've consumed a lot of your story but I believe more can happen. I want to tell your story. The whole of it. In its rawness, in its riches, and its grass to grace glory. I've done something similar with Taiwo Awoniyi, and it's one of the best things I've ever written. According to him, it's one of the best things he's read. My desire is to tell our stories, your stories in a way nobody has ever done before, because people need to know what it means to be where you're at. I believe telling yours will lead to telling others’ too, and many youngsters’ too who hope to be like you. Thanks for your consideration. @_AsiwajuLerry My name is Rilwan, I love and write about football systems, memories and the depths behind the game. Follow me and repost if you want more of this.

One of those 16 slots has gone to a country that failed to win a single game during normal qualifying. There are African teams who won four games in their groups and they haven't made it to the World Cup. Burkina Faso won 6 of their 10 games, and lost only one. No World Cup. Cameroon won 5 of their 10 and lost 1, they'll be watching from home. Gabon won 8 of their 10 games. A staggering 80% of their games and they are not going to the World Cup. They lost only one. One can even argue that Madagascar are more deserving of a place in the World Cup than Sweden because they won 60% of their qualifying games. If you prune it down to the mathematics of it, the 4 semi-finalists at the last World Cup comprised 2 European countries. That's 15% of the European countries who were there — 13. Africa had one semi-finalist out of the five representatives there. That's a 20% success rate in the semis for Africa. None of both continents won the World Cup. This is what a convenient analysis looks like. And that's what you're doing. Europe has a third of the World Cup slots. There are 5 confederations sharing the other thirty-two slots but Europe believes it's not enough. You call it ‘mere’ 16 places. They say it's unfair yet everything else says otherwise. UEFA should have 24 slots while the rest of the world can share the rest? That's not ‘fair’ representation. Europe has ‘just’ 16 of 55. Africa has ‘just’ 10 (read 9+1) of its 54. None of the European countries had to travel several miles to play an intercontinental fixture. The point on home advantage lends to logic. Neutrality would have been better in their selection of venues but on those countries calling for more slots when they have one-third already, it's everything but fair. European countries believe that 16 places out of 48 for the World Cup is nowhere near enough There is also disquiet over home advantage in these play-offs, that may see neutral venues raised in future independent.co.uk/sport/football…
