They only held baptisms twice a year, so my firstborn would’ve been 6 months old before they would baptize him. We went to the Episcopal church a few blocks away and he was baptized the next week.

If the Catholic Church wants you to baptize your baby then parishes should probably be more welcoming to those babies. Filling out a baptism form and this is so rude 💀 we don’t have to take a class bc this isn’t our first rodeo but what do they expect first-time parents to do if they can’t bring their baby along with them especially if the child is still young and breast-fed? Absolutely crazy to me

Ok since I'm giving up Twitter for Lent I'm going to get out as many rants out as I can today Rant #1 I'm so astonished by the amount of people who intentionally dress sloppily for Sunday Mass I'm not talking about poor people I'm talking about the ones who have good jobs and have bought really nice clothes with the money they've earned with those jobs, yet still dress like they're going jogging to worship our Lord Yes, the Church is open to everyone, yes you can come to Mass even in your pajamas, but whyyyyyyy in the world would you want to when God has blessed you with so much I had a conversation with my friend the other day about this After brunch we went shopping together and she bought a really cute pink dress. The following Sunday at Church I saw her in jeans and a baggy top. I asked her, 'Oh why didn't you wear that pink dress?" She said it was so pretty she was saving it for a first date I got so enraged She would rather wear rags to see the Lord of Lords, the Creator of the universe, the only love who unconditionally loves her And a pretty dress for some stranger I swear, we have our priorities upside down We save dresses or slacks for an office party, and come to Mass in sweatpants God is the reason we have all this stuff He has blessed us with so much and yet we spit on Him every Sunday

Puttering around the house is an underrated form of self-care. Make some tea or coffee. Put on a podcast. Sort the mail. Tidy some pillows and fold some blankets. Start the laundry. Thaw some soup. Just casually wander around aimlessly doing little things to make your space and life a little nicer. Who cares if you get distracted or only do a little? You aren't being productive. my first quiz is always embedded in the syllabus to make sure students read it—I ask them to send me a quick email with some information about them. but this semester I added that they should feel free to send me pictures of their pets, too. best decision I ever made.
