The House adopts Resolution 800, urging federal, state, local, territorial, & tribal governments to oppose laws that address non-citizen voting that impose undue burdens on eligible voters and election officials. #ABAAnnualMeeting2025

The House approved the withdrawal of Resolution 614, a request to create a special committee to combat antisemitism. The Task Force to combat Antisemitism continues! #ABAAnnualMeeting2025

The House adopts Resolution 613, supporting the July 17, 2024, “Global Guidelines For Countering Antisemitism,” and urges other bar associations to also support these guidelines. #ABAAnnualMeeting2025

The House adopts Resolution 612, urging institutions of higher education to educate students, staff, & employees on forms of discrimination and harassment on the basis of religion & national origin, including discrimination under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The House adopts Resolution 611, urging federal, state, local, territorial, & tribal governments, and local school boards to develop & implement policies & protocols that provide uniform responses to incidents involving antisemitism and hate within K-12 public schools.

The House Resolution 610, encouraging all levels of government and the legal community to help ensure every parent and caregiver of a minor child has an opportunity to establish & update a Caregiver Will during the course of raising their children. #ABAAnnualMeeting2025

The House adopts Res. 609 Rev., urging the U.S. & other countries to: 1) use diplomatic influence to stop & prevent human rights violations against Palestinians, including the West Bank and Gaza; 2) open pathways for internat'l justice & accountability for human rights violations

The House adopts Resolution 608 Revised, urging federal, state, local, territorial, & tribal governments to enact statutes, rules, & regulations imposing penalties on those who fail to report lost or stolen firearms. #ABAAnnualMeeting2025

The House adopts Resolution 607, opposing the enactment & enforcement of, and supports the repeal of laws, policies, & practices by federal, state, local, tribal & other authorities that punish or penalize persons experiencing homelessness #ABAAnnualMeeting2025

The House adopts Resolution 606, urging the National Conference of Bar Examiners & state, territorial, & tribal bar admission authorities to replace the term “alien” with the term “noncitizen” in all bar examination materials and related content. #ABAAnnualMeeting2025

The House adopts Res. 605 Rev., urging state, territorial, and tribal highest courts to study community justice worker programs successfully implemented in U.S. jurisdictions & adopt programs for their jurisdiction, expanding accessibility & affordability of civil legal services.

The House adopts Resolution 604, urging state, local, territorial, & tribal courts to adopt & implement court-based civil diversion programs that use the formal court process to provide litigants with the time, info, & resources to resolve disputes aligned with Civil Diversion.

The House adopts Resolution 603, urging the Executive Branch to adopt policies & Congress to enact laws prohibiting detention of immigrants in Depart. of Defense facilities (e.g., Guantanamo Bay) & urges the same to establish & implement procedures for detention.

The House adopts Resolution 602, urging the Dept. of Homeland Security & other immigration enforcement agencies to adopt regulations & policies prohibiting immigration enforcement operations in or around sensitive locations & urges Congress to pass legislation.

The House adopts Resolution 524, urging federal, state, territorial & tribal courts, to gather, assess, & report demographic data necessary to ensure they are assembling representative jury pools, in accordance with Principle 10 of the ABA Principles for Juries and Jury Trials.

The House adopts Resolution 523, encouraging legal workspaces, bar associations, & tribunals to study & adopt “Bullying in the Legal Profession: A Study of Illinois Lawyers’ Experiences and Recommendations for Change”; creating policies, training, & initiatives to stop bullying.

The House adopts Resolution 522, urging Congress to pass H.R. 154, or similar legislation, to establish a federal Election Day in every even-numbered year as a federal public holiday. #ABAAnnualMeeting2025

The House adopts Resolution 521, urging federal, state, local, territorial, & tribal governments to enact laws & regulations to establish adequate & sustainable funding for trauma-informed survivor-led programs to support survivors of human trafficking; urging training too.
