I don't often agree with Trevor Noah but he raises a valid point. Why do African and Middle Eastern athletes always have to answer questions for what their governments are doing when European and American ones do not? The same weird standards are also applied to Russians.

I don't think the red card reversal should've caused any issues. If anything, they should've been inspired by how their country petitioned to overturn an obviously erroneous call. They looked intimidated against Belgium, made some rookie errors leading to two goals. Until that game they had an absolutely amazing run. Very proud of the team overall.

They had a chance to make history, but after the U.S. government stepped in to reverse the red card, the team seemed to get nervous — at least that's what it looked like. Did you get the same vibe?
