Smith has no “plan B”, @ikwilson It’s continuous groveling to Ottawa, strongly worded letters, lawsuits and moving deadlines. That is all the UCP has the stomach for.
They will undoubtedly try and mix in Alberta Next panel questions with a referendum in another attempt to appease the East as well.

Can we have an honest discussion please? PM Carney confirmed yesterday that there will be no pipeline without First Nations consent. First Nations then confirmed there will be no consent. So what is the Plan B? Since the Prime Minister refuses to follow the Constitution—by effectively granting one group a veto over the economic future of the rest of the country—then Alberta is left with no meaningful options inside Confederation. In my view, Alberta’s only viable path is independence, where Alberta would have real leverage to negotiate free and reciprocal passage of goods and trade with BC, rather than having our economy blocked.

They wouldn’t dare suggest what Quebec did as treasonous.
