The first time Peter encounters Jesus, he tells Jesus that he is a sinful man. Jesus response was to tell Peter “follow me”. At the end of John, Peter asks Jesus about John. Jesus response was to tell Peter “follow me”. Whatever our situation in life, Jesus’ answer boils down to “follow me”. When we are a little too worried about what other people are doing, when we are worried that our own sin will somehow preclude God from using us, Jesus looks us in the heart and says “follow me”. #talkedtotheboss

$179m in planned Florida Forever conservation projects is sitting unfunded — with willing sellers waiting on the state to act. Lawmakers have until May 29 to honor the $100M/year law they unanimously passed in 2023. Take action: takeaction.io/1000fof/urge-l…

With my 25th anniversary coming up in five weeks, I have a specific request to make of those of you willing to help me make a meaningful commemoration of it. I won’t have any party or celebration (other than a private Mass). Instead, I’m asking each of you to consider using whatever influence you have to get the Sisters of the Little Way magazine actively distributed and promoted at your parish, university/seminary, fraternal organization, deanery meeting, etc. Send me pictures of the distribution and I’ll post them with my gratitude. Alternatively, you could arrange discussion groups to listen to their Descent Into Light series, and send me group photographs. I won’t ask you for anything else until my 50th!

I had never sent nor received an email, never searched for anything “online”, never used a cell phone, was ambivalent about the eleventh day of September, and had never read a Boston Globe article.

Unknown number: "Hi, you order a delivery of loose mulch?" "Yep, that's me." "Ok, the driver is about 10 mins away..." "I ordered delivery for Friday. My driveway isn't clear and I haven't prepped anything." "Yeh, maybe that's the due date, but the baby's on its way now man."

In December 2025, former US Senator @BenSasse announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. That's the primary topic for this @UncKnowledge conversation about mortality, faith, and what truly matters when time is short. Talking to host @P_M_Robinson, Sasse reflects on "redeeming the time"—holding ambition lightly, loving family more deliberately, and resisting the urge to make politics or professional success the center of life. The discussion also covers Sasse's thoughts on the failures of Congress; the dangers of a fragmented, attention-starved republic; the crisis of higher education; and the moral challenges of technological abundance. He speaks candidly and movingly about regret, forgiveness, prayer, and suffering—arguing that while death is a real enemy, it does not get the final word. Watch the full conversation on X:
