This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. The Calgary Police Service has updated the missing child Alert. This alert is in effect for the City of Calgary. Calgary police are extending the alert for missing 11 year old Parker. He was last seen in the northeast community of Thorncliffe on Thursday, July 16 at 12:52 PM. He is 4’11” tall, 90 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, wearing dark shorts, noise-cancelling headphones and no shirt. All Calgarians are asked to continue checking your properties and monitoring your communities for Parker. If found, do not approach, call 911. The Government of Alberta has issued an exemption for the Calgary Police Service to issue an AMBER Alert for Calgary for missing 11 year old Parker. He is 4’1” tall, 90 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, wearing black shorts, noise-cancelling headphones and no shirt. If found, do not approach, call 9 1 1. People in the communities of Cambrian Heights, Thorncliffe, North Haven, North Haven Upper, Highwood, Highland Park, Greenview, Greenview Industrial Park are asked to thoroughly check their property. This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Environment Canada has issued a Tornado Watch. This alert is in effect for wide area around Cold Lake (see attached map). Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible. Thunderstorms developing this evening have the potential to produce tornadoes. Significant damage or destruction to infrastructure, homes and the natural environment is possible. Tornado watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ABstorm@ec.gc.ca, call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on X using #ABStorm. This alert is in effect for Clearwater County, for the area of Rimbey and Eckville (see attached map). Tornado Warnings are more severe than watches. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado. Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches. If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.
