These populations relied on plants, whole foods, fasting, and traditional cleansing practices, without any awareness of modern Western medicine. Their health outcomes declined only after the introduction of industrialized food systems, pharmaceuticals, and Western medical practices. This historical contrast raises an important question about what truly supports long-term health and resilience.
