It becomes anti-Black real quick bc “we’re not them”. Keep it in house (aka don’t do that in front of them) becomes self-oppressive instead of protective of the community.

The problem Black elitists run into when it comes to classist takes & not wanting to engage the rest of their community has to do with not identifying beyond their bubble/ideal of “excellence”. It’s a common elitist sentiment across communities. & it’s white gaze coded.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

Pause & interrogate when you hear and read something. Synthesize after the initial feeling you get before accepting and moving on to the next thing.

You can be open-minded AND still have discernment.

Really need some of y’all to think past the opinions shoved in your face daily. They’re filled with rationalizations to support their stance (rather than fact, evidence, studies, discipline)

If you want to push back against tech's encroachment into every corner of our lives, you have to read books. They're eager to create a future in which most people are illiterate and hooked on slop, a world without imagination or knowledge. Reading is resistance.
