It’s getting cooler and grayer, and school is just around the corner, but we’re holding onto that summer feeling a little longer. 🌞 We’re missing the fun from @Dearborngov HOCO earlier this month, so here’s a tb with some on-the-street action from our Dearborn community!

We teamed up with @ForgottnHarvest this month and helped serve over hundreds of households with groceries and necessities. Families were given what they needed most: fresh produce, meats, dairy, and essential household items. Because dignity and choice matter. ❤️

In Michigan, Medicaid provides support for the Local Community Mental Health System with nearly $3.5b annually. This support is imperative for long-term mental health care and mgmt. This is at risk under the proposed Medicaid cuts and could negatively impact millions annually.

Despite the fact that 25% of Michigan residents have a disability, 84% of polling places in Metro Detroit were not fully accessible according to a recent audit of Metro Detroit polling places conducted by Detroit Disability Power and The Carter Center.

Detroit Disability Power @DisabilityPower found that just 57% of Detroit polling locations had working voter assistance terminals, 51% had accessible parking, 35% had accessible entrances, and only 12% had accessible voting booths.
