the discourse around VHS capture is wild there is the "old school" of forums where poeple have refined the best way of capturing video trying to clean the feed from the start (s-vhs decks, time base correctors, specific capture card), works but can cost up to $2000-3000 to get a proper setup and the "new school" that is using VHS-decode: essentially, you solder wires internally on any decent enough VCR, tap the RF signal internally and get the raw RF feed, THEN use a "software VCR" to convert that into the best quality video signal 100% on your computer, also generating a "lossless" RF capture of a tape in the process... all of this using old WinTV capture cards or newly made aliexpress ones that go for like 20 bucks i see some "new school" people often accuse the "old school" guys to basically work like a "VHS mafia", because... they have a financial stake in keeping the old way going, both because a lot of them hoard VCRs and TBCs and capture equipment or simply offer "best quality capture services" making you pay per tape this is so interesting i have to look into this, making a video about the origins and current status of this supposed "VHS Mafia" could be fucking wild

@TKsMantis Just started playing again. Starfield certainly isn’t perfect, a fair bit too large to me with so little to do on each planet, but overall still a fun time for me.

Sorry if I'm quiet on everything for the next while. I don't know whether to focus on getting better or saying I had a good run and shut everything down. I've never been through something like this, being chronically sick for 4 months isn't every epic.

@G0LD3NR4BB1T It was great, it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be and that was the best thing. It wasn’t like Tha Banana Splits and other animatronic movies of the last few years. It was an interesting take on the lore they used and condensed into a really enjoyable movie.
