Big conversations are happening in Busoga. Community leaders & Project Affected Persons (PAPs) are coming together to draft Community Development Agreements (CDAs) around the Makuutu Rare Earths Project facilitated by @ACEMP_UG. This process is a key step in ensuring mining creates shared benefits for both communities and investors. With support from @EUinUG, our Business and Human Rights project is helping make these conversations possible. Real progress in sustainable mining begins when communities have a seat at the table. #EnablingChange #TeamEurope

Today on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women and girls across Uganda and beyond. 🌍💜 Women shape our history, power our economy, nurture our communities, and lead change every day. Yet true equality remains unfinished business. This is our call to action: Scale up investment to accelerate gender equity and the empowerment of women and girls in Uganda. Invest in education. Invest in health & SRHR. Invest in leadership. Invest in economic opportunity. Because when women rise, nations rise. 🇺🇬✨ #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2026 #InvestInWomen #GenderEquity #EmpowerHer @DKinUganda @NLinUganda @IrlEmbUganda @SwedeninUG @DKAmbUganda @SwedEnvoyUganda @IEAmbUganda @FrederiekeQ @FriendsofZoka @ACEMP_UG @feminature

Uganda’s mining landscape is entering a new era. The Orom-Cross Graphite Project in Kitgum is set to begin full operations in 2026, positioning Uganda in the global critical minerals market 🌍🔋. 📈 Production is projected to grow from 5,000 to 100,000 tons, with plans for a battery-grade graphite refinery, unlocking significant economic benefits for local communities and the nation. 🤝 Government leaders, cultural institutions, civil society, and partners, including @ACEMP_UG, came together to ensure the project is anchored in inclusive planning, strong community participation, and respect for human rights. Sustainable mining starts with people at the centre. #BusinessAndHumanRights #EnablingChange
