Final stats from my senior season: 21.3 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 3.1 APG, 2.1 SPG. Led the Northwestern 6A/7A Conference in every scoring statistic (per MaxPreps). 1st in conference with ⬇️⬇️ 176 field goals made 71 three-pointers made 533 total points (21.3 PPG) 110 free throws made Led the conference in total steals and steals per game (per MaxPreps) ⬇️⬇️ 52 total / 2.1 per game Made the All Conference team All District 1st Team (District 11) As a team, we tied for 2nd in the conference. A special season with a special group.

New Season Begins Tonight

WHY GETTING A FIRST-ROUND BYE MATTERS THIS YEAR IN NCHSAA BASKETBALL This year's NCHSAA basketball playoffs are dealing with two changes that are squeezing together the first four rounds. Last year, the first two rounds were played in the opening week -- Tuesday & Friday -- then that repeated the next week, with the final week being the "final four" format in Winston-Salem. There's no way to do a final four format with 8 classes this year. So regionals have to happen at the end of the second week. Which squeezes the first four rounds into the first 8 days of playoffs -- Feb. 24, Feb. 26, Feb. 28, March 2. If you can avoid that Feb. 24 game, you'll still have to win three games in five days. But that's better than winning four games in six days. Anybody seeded lower than 9th that makes it to regionals will have earned it. The only fix I can think of, if enough people think this is a problem? End the regular season on a Wednesday. (most conference tournaments eliminate a round and play top-4 on Monday, championships on Wednesday). The brackets come out Thursday, first round on Friday. Then you could hit the second week with a traditional three-game week (which has happened often in the past whether it was Tuesday-Thursday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday). Then teams who make regionals get two days of prep at minimum. Thoughts?
