Ava Wirtanen is the MIAA Division 2 State Champ in the 100yd Freestyle!!!!

We are so proud of Ava & Sophie and their performance in the MIAA Division 2 State Championship! With just two swimmers, ACHS Swim took 19th overall out of 42 teams! Individual stats are listed below. #WeAreAC 🏊🏼‍♀️🐾

The CCL was well represented at the girls D2 States meet today! Congrats to Ava Wirtanen of @ACHSvarsityswim for becoming the 100 freestyle Champion, and Gracie O’Connell of @matignonswim for becoming the 100 butterfly Champion! 💜💜💜

We are so proud of Sophie and Ava for representing ACHS Swim in such an amazing way at yesterday's meet. It was great feeling to see both of our girls swim their way on to that podium. We are so excited for what the future holds. ON TO STATES!!!! #WeAreAC 🏊🐾🏆

MUCH congrats to Sophie Zenkin on her performance at the MIAA Sectionals North meet! Sophie cut SIX seconds off her 200 IM and took 10th in the North at 2:17.99. She also cut time in her 100 backstroke, sneaking in at 6th overall with a time of 1:01.77. Amazing job!! 🏊🏼‍♀️🐾

Congratulations to Ava Wirtanen on a great performance at the MIAA Sectionals North meet! Ava was the only swimmer to take 1st in two events. She won the 200 yd freestyle with a time of 1:53.27. Winning by milliseconds, she also took 1st in the 100 yard freestyle at 52.34! 🐾🏊🏼‍♀️

It’s going to be a photo finish in the 100 freestyle, and Ava Wirtanen of Arlington Catholic is going to edge Westford Academy’s Kate Edison! The sophomore has won her second event of the day. Final time - 52.34 seconds. @BostonHeraldHS @AC_Athletics

SECTIONALS BEGINS IN LESS THAN 4 HOURS! Today Ava Wirtanen and Sophie Zenkin will be competing in the MIAA Sectionals North Championship Meet at MIT. Both Wirtanen and Zenkin qualified for States & Sectionals in multiple events this season. Let’s go girls! 🐾🏊🏼‍♀️
