Today, a federal court permanently blocked Governor DeSantis’ classroom censorship law, the "Stop WOKE Act," from taking effect. The law would've restricted students and educators in Florida from discussing things like race and gender in higher ed classrooms.

This one is for the teachers, the students, and the First Amendment. ICYMI: "Stop WOKE Act," stopped.

Regardless of what Governor DeSantis seems to think, the First Amendment and fundamental due process guarantee all non-profits the right to criticize government officials and their policies. We’ll see the state of Florida in court.

BREAKING: We’re suing to stop Florida’s baseless designation of the country’s leading Muslim civil rights group, CAIR, and its Florida chapter as “domestic terrorist organizations.” If the court doesn’t intervene, they’ll be required to shut down in the state.

The Constitution's guarantee of birthright citizenship and President Trump's attempt to sidestep it are equally clear. Birthright citizenship has always been — and remains — one of the clearest expressions of our nation's commitment to equality, fairness, and the rule of law.

President Trump's executive order threatened to upend the lives of hundreds of thousands of families and create a permanent subclass of people born in this country but denied the rights guaranteed to every American. Today's ruling rejects his attempt to do so.

As people are transferred to other facilities, the abuses do not disappear — and neither will our demand for accountability.
