@guyinblackhat Just learning about his death. Just was at another funeral yesterday for another friend who died at his own hand. I thought of him often, as I was looking at maybe doing some work in Micronesia and he’s the only person I knew who lived in the us pacific territories.

“Capped services” We will be hearing more of this AB. With capacity and workforce challenges, many in-pt consulting services are indicating it is unsafe to continue taking MORE overcapacity pts into the hospital. Services are “capping” = no more consultations/advice/admissions

@quality_nguyen $40,000 for vaccinating 100 kids? Clearly they haven’t seen how much we get for visits. Unless this is gross and not net, in which case, maybe it is about right. Vaccines add up.

In 2004, when the mayor of Fucking, Austria, was asked if he'd change the name of the town, he replied: "Everyone here knows what it means in English, but for us Fucking is Fucking - and it's going to stay Fucking."
The residents of Fucking have reportedly had to deal with a lot of unwanted attention and visitors who come solely to take pictures with the village sign. As a result, the village has taken measures to protect its sign, including using theft-resistant bolts and installing security cameras.

@WCInvestor If you make $500k a year and don’t understand how you could survive on less, you have completely forgotten how you lived on $50-60k/yr as a resident. It is easy to imagine spending more, hard to imagine spending less. Don’t cry about taxes, everyone’s first $60k is taxed the same

People making $500K-$1M a year have attempted to label themselves as "middle class" due to living in HCOL areas such as San Francisco or Manhattan. While cost of living should be considered, it's absurd to claim that the middle class encompasses the top 1% or even 10% of society.

If there would be a ratio of how much trust we have in a group and how much power they have to ruin your life, I think IT professionals are at the extreme end of that scale.
