ACOR received an AFCP grant for "Conservation of the Roman Imperial (2nd-Century A.D.) Western Theater in Umm Qais (Ancient Gadara)." Over two years, this U.S. Department of State funding will preserve and rehabilitate an historic site & strengthen tourism in northern Jordan.

Sarah Wenner, assist. prof. at ACOR, has received a 2026 Steinmetz Grant from the AIA for a project that will train Jordanian students to use a laser-aided profiler (LAP) to increase the speed of documenting ceramics. archaeological.org/2026-steinmetz…

In January 2026, in coordination with @Jor_antiquities, ACOR held a Training of Trainers for Jordan’s Public Security Directorate, helping strengthen national efforts to combat the illicit trafficking of cultural heritage.
