Funny story about this. The only reason why the "Adventurer's Guild" trope exists is due to the video game Wizardry. Fantasy in Japan was not introduced through novels like Lord of the Rings or Conan. It was video games like Wizardry, which became a major inspiration for Dragon's Quest and Final Fantasy. In Wizardry, you didn't have a set party. You created your own characters and death was permanent, so it wasn't uncommon to create new characters. Swapping and "grinding" were essential aspects of the game. Before you went to the dungeon, you were town where you level up, get items, create new characters, and swap characters. Where did you swap characters? Adventurer's Guild. So now you know why this trope seems to be every anime. It's based on a video game in the 80s that still sways influence today.

This is such a window into the past I think this kind of nerd just disappeared. They were a obliterated like the dinosaurs.

The cinematic for Cryo Archive is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. The writing and visuals are perfect dark sci-fi, and it does a good job of setting the tone for one of the most challenging PvPvPvE maps I've ever played. The Marathon team did great work. This is art.

i genuinely forgot how good Starcrafts OST is. Terrans especially just screaing "space western" is hilariously awesome, i even forgot (till replaying recently) how HEAVY on the southern accent a lot of voice work is and it's great

Genuinely fucking genius that they redesigned the Marathon ship, to then frame it infront of Tau Ceti IV to make it look like the actual logo for the game This games’ art is unmatched
