Sharing my first piece of short fiction. "Waiting for the Word" explores the biblical story of Zechariah and the surprising gift of silence. Thanks to Foreshadow Magazine.

I was so thrilled tonight to send the revised draft of my next book of poetry, The Locust Years, to @WisebloodBooks. The cover art is being painted on wood by the amazing Michael Cook. Here it is in progress.
It is so holy and surreal to see my inner world wake into life.
Every day I’m able, rain or shine, warm or cold, I walk down to swim in this pool at first light in the morning. It’s a little like getting baptized among the trout and dipper birds. Cold water heals, strengthens, preserves, and clarifies the mind and soul.
The Locust Years is fast coming into its final form. Can’t wait to share this with you early next year.
