@PaulONeill29 I agree, as a journo who still dines out on being called “an amateur a***hole” by Mr C, I reckon it would sell like hot cakes!
English

Erm…
You taking the p*ss?!
It’d sell better than square sausages in Peebles lad!!!
I’ve sorted a foreword… let’s do this! 😂

john cleland@jclelandracing
No not sure it would sell 😱

@1990sBTCC @jclelandracing Loved covering the GP support races - gave me a free pass to the GP meeting and as the race was always after the F1 I could turn up at lunchtime in time to see the GP and drive straight into the press car park with no queues!
English

Who remembers when the #BTCC held a support race at the British Grand Prix every year?
Enjoy this corker from 1995, with @jclelandracing going on to take victory.

@IMSARadio Morning team, great to wake up on a Sunday morning to motorsport - winter hibernation over! Thanks for all your efforts.

So sad to see how small @Autosport International show has become…I worked on the show for many years in the early 2000’s and to see it down to only two halls of the NEC is hard to see.
Someone needs to resurrect this wonderful bastion of British motorsport.

One of my favourite places, the corner where Rosemary and I spent much of our first day as a couple…

@norramot Memo to self - check out Smyths next time I see one…
English

@ACsTracksideArc These were in Smyths Toys next to the supermarket I was meant to be in. It was surprisingly quiet so thought I’d have a quick look…

One or two comments on my feed about getting to Silverstone at crack of dawn for just four races. Here's what you got in 1984... #F1 #BritishGrandPrix

English

Seriously impressed by @Padmore56! And to think I first got to know him in the 1980s when his dad raced road saloons and had the garage just up from my kids’ first school! Not many can say they’ve finished 2nd at Monaco in a F1 car… youtu.be/8Ow210mNGyE?si…

@norramot @SimonArron Reminds me of the wad of stickers I was given as a schoolboy by the Surtees team after the 1976 Race of Champions. I put one on my school bag but on the inside due to the team’s sponsor at the time…
English

Fair to say @SimonArron absolutely filled his boots when collecting free stickers from the 1984 British Grand Prix…

English

@norramot Would love to but would have to stay for the 500!
English

@norramot Yup. That’s what you call road racing!

This was sad to hear - John Webb was the man in charge of the Brands group of circuits during the period when most of the pictures were taken and at one point I nearly went to work for him. A motor sport visionary, RIP.
Brands Hatch@Brands_Hatch
The team at MotorSport Vision (MSV) is saddened to learn that John Webb, who oversaw Brands Hatch’s era as the home of British and European Grands Prix throughout the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s, has died in Spain at the age of 92. Jonathan Palmer pays tribute: msv.com/news/2024/jan/…

Don’t always agree with Mr Needell but he has a very valid point here…
