At ADFW, leaders from across sectors came together to explore the role capital will play in accelerating AI, the importance of building the right foundations, and how the UAE is helping shape an ecosystem where innovation can thrive with purpose. And though the future of AI will be defined by technology, it will also be shaped by the conversations around it. This AI Appreciation Day, we're renewing our commitment to provide a platform for those conversations.

In this conversation, Abdullah Al Shamsi, Group Chief Business Officer of ADCB, reflects on how the UAE’s banking sector has helped shape national progress and accelerate economic transformation. From the earliest days of the UAE’s modern economic development, banking has played a defining role in carrying the weight of growth. Today, that foundation has evolved into a globally connected economy powered by trusted institutions, deeper markets and new technologies.
