The August issue of AECT features an article on levels of Hg and other trace elements in tissues of wolverines from northern Canada. Mercury levels were generally highest in the kidney. However, Hg, Cd, Pb and Se concentrations are not a risk to these animals.

The July issue feature article shows chronic exposure of early life stages of fathead minnows to groundwater contaminated from a pesticide plant increased mortalities & affected development of the fish. Parallel transcriptomics analyses supported observations of in vivo toxicity.

The April issue features an article about the effects of sublethal concentrations of lead on house sparrows, showing that the birds' flight ability and activity in novel environments were affected, with possible consequences for the survival of wild birds in lead-polluted areas.
