"Buzzard" is commonly used interchangeably with the word "vulture," even though "buzzard" technically refers to several species of hawk. Though we educate about the difference between the two, we believe that a love of vultures—or buzzards— is far more important than semantics.

Buzzard Day began in Hinckley, Ohio when residents observed that turkey vultures consistently returned to the area on March 15th. This unique celebration is typically observed with a pancake breakfast, a vulture-themed arts and crafts festival, and a lot of vulture watching.
