Two things can be true at the same time. Kazakhs have every right to feel hurt and disappointed by this situation and their feelings shouldn't be dismissed. At the same time, Jungwon also has the right not to be vilified for a history lesson he never had.
Even as someone years older and chronically online, I had no clue about this issue. Most people didn't know the dark history behind that movie's imagery until now. Hell, I wasn't even aware of who the character on the t-shirt was, that such movie exists, let alone that he's created as an insulting satirical parody. So the claim that "the whole world is mocking the Kazakhs" just isn't true. Only those who already knew, know.
Educate rather than attack. No public figure would ever intentionally hurt their fans.

@emohaechan_ Jungwon addressing it himself means the apology came directly from him,not just the company. He explained he had no idea, got rid of the shirt, and the TikTok was deleted. Neither he nor we knew about the issue before, and we're sorry to anyone who was hurt...

im grateful to everyone who paid attention and understood the seriousness of the situation and helped to reach jungwon himself. i’m very happy and actually proud that our voices were heard. the official statement would be great, but at least we got an apology from jungwon himself

UPDATE 📌 Jungwon went live and apologised to the fans ! he confirmed it was his shirt but he didn’t know abt its meaning. he throw shirt away after all of the comments from Engene !! thanks to everyone who helped with spreading awareness abt borat! 🫶🏻
