A few weeks ago, AYEP students took a field trip to the @NACAC College Fair in Philadelphia! Students got the chance to connect with various colleges and universities. 📚

In recognition of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, we welcomed the @PennMedicine Mobile Mammography Van last week, which screened 10 women for breast cancer. No health insurance was required! #MammoMovement #breastcancerawareness🎀

Earlier this month, our Wisdom Circle and other community members took a trip to @FarmerJawn_! We learned about the process of planting various fresh produce throughout different seasons. Each participant received $20 worth of fresh produce. 🥕🧑‍🌾

Earlier this month AFAHO had the pleasure of speaking at the Birth Justice Philly Summit organized by Organized Voices for Action. We presented "Mama Na Mimi," during the Immigrant and Refugee Populations' Access to Reproductive Health breakout session!

On Saturday, we welcomed 90 community members for our annual Health Screening Day! Screenings included blood pressure, glucose, STIs, Hepatitis B, vision, and colon cancer. Additionally, AFAHO’s consulting mental health counselor, Didi Scott, spoke with clients about stress.

Our summer camp kicked off this week! Youth enjoyed outdoor sports, nature walks through @BartramsGarden, yoga with Neha Patil, and an SRH workshop led by our intern Isaiah. Stay tuned for more camp updates!

Umme is a senior at @haverfordedu, majoring in neuroscience with a minor in health studies. On the pre-med track, she has always been deeply interested in addressing health disparities. Growing up in the Philadelphia area, she witnessed firsthand the impact of health inequities.

Mauryce has always been passionate about helping people in the Black Diaspora. Mauryce is a graduate student at @Penn, pursuing a social work degree. He became passionate about advocating for African American youth due to his research on media affects on African American youth.
