This was the game that essentially cost Emery his job, utterly stupid.
We played a full strength team in Napoli despite already being 2-0 up (and away goal rule in our favour), Ramsey got injured, dropped 3 points in this game and then missed out on CL by a point.

7 years ago today, Unai Emery controversially started Carl Jenkinson & Dinos Mavropanos as Arsenal lost 3-2 at home in a crucial game against Crystal Palace in the Top 4 run in. Before this game, Mavropanos had 1 Premier League start that entire season, while Jenkinson had only started 1 Premier League game in the last 2.5 years. Many journalists have said they thought they were being pranked when they were shown the line up. This was part of a run where Arsenal were 3rd but only picked up 4 points out of a possible 18 from 6 games, which meant they would finish 5th.

@Bd_irB_ll Very similar situation to 10/11. We were doing great until Feb, lost the Carling Cup final to Birmingham and completely collapsed which lead to both Fabregas and Nasri leaving in the summer

From a narrative standpoint it doesn't get better than this Arsenal season. One of the most pressured teams I can remember, I speak about their issues and the historical examples of teams like them

Whilst it's a penalty, genuinely couldn't care less. Ball basically brushes his arm, ball was going out for a corner anyway and still did. Not like it stopped a goal or even a chance from occurring.

In some ways, Arsenal needed that lesson. You can never guarantee a clean sheet in any game of football, there's always a chance that a moment of magic like that free-kick can happen.
Regardless that a draw would've been a good result, Arsenal lacked attacking threat today.
