We had the BEST guest speaker today in my Black Families course! We learned all about the children’s book writing process, how developmental scientists can expand their reach, and how sugar and butter is the ONLY way to eat grits. (Okay that last one is still up for debate 😂)

Spent the morning talking to the wonderful students at UCONN about my children’s books! Thank you @DrMBurnett for the opportunity ✨

🚨New Pub Alert 🚨 In this paper, we argue that gendered racial stereotypes are an underlying motivational mechanism that shapes Black girls’ STEM identity and persistence. We also highlight the need to participate in more theoretical integrations across disciplines!
