Some trends (like CI, perhaps even CD) had a clear, positive impact on the product quality in general. Certain other trends have questionable value prop. All these trends saw wide adoption during a 10+ year bull market, which made it harder to scrutinize their precise benefits.

So I'm not the only one that everytime they read a conversation about self-driving vehicles, it suspiciously sounds like we're reinventing trains and buses?!? There was a name for this stuff when tech is applied to solve every problem? What was it?
