Yesterday I spoke with students at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon about the work we do in the Attorney General’s Office, and how our Cold Case Unit is bringing justice for victims and answers for families. Thanks to the students for a great program!

Fraudsters are always evolving, and it’s up to all of us to be aware of their scams. Appreciated the Community Bankers of Iowa for inviting me to participate in their panel on how we can better fight fraud in Iowa.

ICYMI: Yesterday we held the first meeting of the Medicaid Fraud Elimination Task Force. We’re getting rid of waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicaid, because there’s no acceptable amount of fraud when it comes to Iowans’ tax dollars.

SafePlace provides support, advocacy, and safety for child and adult victims of domestic violence. Grateful for the opportunity to speak with them about this important mission and thank them for the role they play as we work to end domestic violence and keep all Iowans safe.

Today, we held the first meeting of the Medicaid Fraud Elimination Task Force. Iowa taxpayers deserve accountability for programs funded by their hard-earned money, which is why we’re working together to find and eliminate Medicaid waste, fraud, and abuse.

Bob and I are shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham, who served our country and his constituents with passion and dedication. Our prayers are with Senator Graham’s family and friends during this time.

Last week, our Victim Assistance Section began the first of their statewide free trainings for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, starting in Clarke County Hospital.  We’re ensuring victims of sexual assault throughout Iowa have access to nurses trained to help sexual assault victims. Great visits in Black Hawk, Jasper, and Grundy counties.  Proud to have for the fourth year in a row worked with Iowans in all 99 counties, hearing directly from law enforcement officers, county attorneys, local leaders, and members of the community on how we can better serve Iowa.

Proud of the work we’ve done to protect victims and defend justice! Two of my legislative priorities from this year’s session go into effect today.

It’s a very good day for women and girls in America. I applaud SCOTUS’s decision reaffirming that it is a woman’s right to compete on a level playing field and not be forced to compete against a man. It’s simple biology and common sense.

Honored to be in Iowa with my friend @AGIowa Brenna Bird - a great partner in law enforcement - addressing a group of 100+ state and local partners in the region working with us on multiple shared priorities, including reducing violent crime, fighting human trafficking, combating fentanyl trafficking, increasing use of artificial intelligence, counter drone programming, Summer Heat 2.0 and our ongoing work safeguarding the FIFA World Cup - with nearby host cities in Kansas City, Chicago, and more. Iowa is ground zero for our work with partners in the most successful run of crime reduction in U.S. history - with major crime reductions across the state including a 30%+ drop in Des Moines homicides last year alone. Many thanks to AG Bird for hosting us - as well as Iowa Department of Public Safety Commissioner Stephen Baynes, Iowa State Patrol Colonel Nathan Fulk, Northern District of Iowa USA Leif Nelson and Southern District of Iowa USA David Waterman.

Honored to have @FBIDirectorKash in Iowa for a meeting with over 100 law enforcement leaders and county attorneys from across the state. As we tackle the most pressing issues facing law enforcement today, we’re grateful for Director Patel’s work to strengthen local, state, and federal partnerships.
