I have a love hate relationship with the diminutive in Spanish. In Mexico, making a word smaller is not always about size. It’s a tool for affection and politeness that softens every interaction. If you look up ahora, it translates to now. You would think shrinking it to ahorita makes it even faster. In reality, adding that tiny diminutive actually expands the timeline into an infinite void. It can mean in three minutes or absolutely never. Who would have thought three letters could hold so much power.

He is so full of shit. This is his ‘oh fuck, I’m destroying my precious stock market!’ come-to-Jesus moment. His desperate off-ramp. He’ll soon declare ‘victory’ and pretend this whole fucking “excursion” wasn’t just a costly, deadly travesty that accomplished NOTHING…
