I left Twitter over 3 yr ago bc it was filling with stupidity & racism. Jumped back when I heard a colleague was pushing for #SaveAmericaAct as if there were a problem to fix. Transparent BS. Cannot believe how much BS is on X. The new Truth Social. Bye. 👋

Atmospheric scientist here. Let me tell you what was actually "slashed" today. Slashed: The Endangerment Finding — a 200-page scientific review upheld by the Supreme Court, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, and reaffirmed by the National Academies of Sciences in 2025. Slashed: The legal authority to regulate carbon from cars, power plants, and factories. All of it. Gone in one afternoon. Now here's what you're "saving": Yesterday Trump ordered the Pentagon — the largest energy consumer on Earth — to buy coal electricity. Coal costs $69–$169/MWh. Wind costs $27–$53/MWh. Solar costs $38–$78/MWh. 99% of U.S. coal plants cost more to run than replacing them with brand-new solar or wind. That's your tax dollars buying the most expensive electricity on the market. By executive order. While the Peabody Energy CEO stood in the room. And the human cost of what you're "saving"? 460,000 American deaths linked to coal pollution in 20 years. Coal PM2.5 is 2.1x deadlier than other air pollution. (Henneman et al., Science, 2023) All to protect an industry that employs 44,000 people total. Clean energy employs 3.5 million.

Analyses show #SaveAmericaAct will suppress votes. But the people who want it to pass know this. Their “arguments” for it are transparent BS. And they are fooling Americans into thinking this solves a problem when there is no problem. 😢 g.co/gemini/share/b…

Having an ID to vote isn’t a crazy idea you know.

#SaveAmericaAct supporters claim a majority of Americans support voter ID. A majority of Americans support stronger #guncontrol legislation. Can’t have it both ways. Difference is gun violence is an actual problem. Non/citizens voting isn’t.

The Save America Act just cleared the House and is headed to the Senate. 🗳️ If passed, requiring physical "documentary proof of citizenship" would most impact: * Married Women: Name discrepancies on birth certificates. * Students: Lack of easy access to original docs.

Why? Because who wants to go to jail for one tiny vote? Why GOP want? Bc they know many CITIZENS cannot prove they are. Most are poor. Stop the bullshit. Just admit what you want.

It’s just sad that @elonmusk, who started the world biggest EV company and one of the largest solar companies in an effort to fight climate change, is now spending his time amplifying voices that attack clean energy and dismiss climate science.

It is quite hilarious that Trump Republicans have been calling for accountability. The lack of self-awareness is incredible. 🤦‍♂️
