@AHC_Channel Don't remember seeing this before. Had a quick look at Myra and Halikarnassos. Haven't found an example yet. Found this though. Don't think I saw this before either:

🧐 Is that nub overlapping two blocks, or is that cut/joint some kind of subsequent modification? Delos 🇬🇷

@history_rev A sling like this would be the preferred method, the corbeling acting as a shelf to keep the stone from slipping through it.

@history_rev If it does not, the upper corbeling still makes a better lashing point than a small nub in the middle. Lashing around the corbeling and lifting is more stable as well.

Everything in this post is wrong. This is in Ukraine and it is 2400 years old.

A 3,400-Year-Old Passage That Still Confuses Experts Hidden beneath the ancient land of Mycenae in Greece lies a mysterious stone corridor known as the Dromos of the Tsarskyi Tomb — a structure so precise and advanced that it still leaves historians asking the same question: how did people over 3,000 years ago build this with such accuracy? Dating back to the 14th century BCE, this long passage was carefully carved using massive stones fitted together with incredible precision. Step by step, the corridor leads deeper into darkness toward a royal burial chamber once meant for powerful rulers of the Mycenaean world. But the deeper you look, the stranger it becomes. The walls are aligned so perfectly that even modern visitors are shocked by the craftsmanship achieved without modern machines, lasers, or advanced tools. Some researchers believe the builders used ropes, geometry, wooden sledges, and an extraordinary understanding of engineering passed down through generations. Others wonder if ancient knowledge has been lost over time — knowledge that allowed civilizations like the Mycenaeans to create structures far beyond what we expect from the Bronze Age. Standing inside this ancient passage feels less like visiting a tomb and more like stepping into a forgotten world. Every stone seems to whisper a secret buried for thousands of years. Who were the minds behind this masterpiece? How did they move such enormous blocks with such perfection? And what else did ancient civilizations know that history has not fully uncovered? Even after 3,400 years, the Dromos of the Tsarskyi Tomb continues to guard its mysteries in silence.

Took the CBR929 out for a quick shake down earlier. It nearly shook my bloody fillings out!! Needs a pair of brake discs, they’re warped to fuck! True to form this Bloody CBR almost consists solely of new (used) parts. 😂😂 At least it runs ok and goes through the gears.
