Dear Ahstrol’s community, I am someone who knows Ahstrol personally and she gave me her consent to post this on her behalf because she wanted you all to know what’s going on. There’s no easy way to say this… she made an attempt on her life. She was rushed to the hospital and is now receiving care from professionals. They were able to save her. I won’t share too many details out of respect for her privacy, I’m asking that we all respect her space and give her time away from the spotlight for now to heal. Dear Ahstrol’s community, I wanted to give you all an update on how Ahstrol is doing. She gave me her consent to share this with you while she’s off doing her lab work. She’s doing better and is slowly becoming more aware of her surroundings. The care she’s receiving is helping, and it’s been a relief to see small steps of progress. That said, this has been really hard on her. She’s been going through so much of it alone, with just me here supporting her. Her family has been refusing to come see her, which has weighed heavily on her. She’s also been worried about her stuff and her room, the landlord hasn’t been very understanding about the situation in the last almost 24 hours. And with her unable to work while in the hospital, and probably not for a while after, the financial struggles are very real. Ahstrol was scared to ask for help. She felt ashamed and like she didn’t deserve it because of the pressure from her mental health, physical health, and financial situation. After some gentle convincing, she agreed to let me set up a fundraiser so anyone who wants to can support her in getting through this just before she went to do her lab work. Your kind words and support already mean a lot, and they’ll mean even more because I have been reading them for her to give her courage to continue pushing forward. Talking to people hurt now. I was trying to gather information from someone for my office and I said “age, race, and pronouns” They answered the first 2 and then said “I don’t do pronouns that’s woke liberal shit” I sat down my clipboard and professionally said “I is a pronoun…and I need to get what you’re are..” They said “well you see I’m man” And I said “yes I do. But not all men say he/him and I’m just trying to do my job”

everyone uses pronouns....what was i going to address the individual by? because if i called them she they would have cussed me out which is why i asked them for their preferred pronouns. what did you want me to do.. prefer to them as an "it" you people are insufferable.

@AHSTROL So that person is a Transmedicalist, They believe people are ONLY transgender IF they are medically transitioning/transitioned. So honestly Blocking them is so much better for all people out there. They also dont seem to understand Pronouns can ALSO be tied to Cultures.

We cannot be serious. I am very supportive of the LGBTQIA+ I have friends and family who are trans. I didn’t know that me asking someone their preferred pronouns was me outing them. ;-; If I don’t ask and assume someone’s gender or pronouns and they get upset- I can be fired and I could loose my home care aid license here in California, I have rules and regulations I have to follow given my training and I’d never out someone as being transgender OR out their personal information that goes against HIPPA. Doctors and nurses ask the same questions I asked- which were “name, race/ethnicity and gender/pronouns”

Idk who you people are but I am a big advocate for The LGBTQIA+ and me asking someone especially a potential patient what are their preferred pronouns is not me outing them I actually haven’t given out any information that would violate HIPPA… idk what straws you are Turing to grasp at but i suggest you see a therapist for the issues and trauma you are trying to put out on me in terms of your responses

@AHSTROL The only times Ive ever been asked my pronouns has been from people who suspect Im trans, thus outing me. Its never been from people who arent super-duper 'trans positive' and 'pro-LGBT'. Ive not been msigendered by other people in years except you people.

@LiveandLearn42 It’s also very dangerous but I do not hold it against her because she’s really old and she’s like..got mental issues..but that type of action could cause me to loose my job. Thankfully her son didn’t believe her and knows her behavior

Caregiving is hard as a black person. For example I’m currently working with a white elderly woman who was trying to go outside while her son (her guardian) said that she isn’t allowed outside due to the smoke from the fire close to her home. And she screamed bloody murder that I hit her when i was standing in front of the door attempting to redirect her elsewhere (which is what I’m trained to do) 🫩
