It has been a really positive start from Year 8 after they have now completed their full set of lessons. Keep an eye out for all the extra-curricular opportunities on offer from staff in the extra curricular timetable. Some of these are exclusive to year 8.
Great to see so many year 8s joining in on our ‘Friday Riddle Challenge’ in the year 8 google classroom today! Look out for the answer on Monday morning. Special mention to Logan Fogg, Imogen Morriss and James Tapper for exceptional home learning effort in Maths this week.
Year 8 are now back working hard, which is excellent to see. The students should also keep checking our Year 8 notices google classroom for updates, thought for the week and daily messages from their Head of Year including a video message once a week.

A great week for year 8! We have had a large number of students involved in the school musical: 'we will rock you'. If you have not seen the production and our wonderful year 8s, it is our last performance this evening, starting at 7 o'clock.
Year 8 pupils were given there taster day timetable to look at for Tuesday the 28th of January. We look forward to it being a fantastic day and helping students with their choices!
Year 8 have done well with bringing in their pamper items for the Christmas fayre. This is our second Christmas event and hopefully we will raise lots of money for those in our community as well as in school.
It has been Anti Bullying Awareness week at AHS. Year 8 have explored in assembly why bullies bully, exploring how we can use school values to support bullies to change there ways.
Lovely to see Y8 children back enthusiastic and ready to learn. This week we have been focusing on the importance on having your say as part of our whole school focus on parliament and democracy!
This week at AHS we have been raising awareness for healthy heart week! Year 8 have taken on board brilliantly the impact of what CPR can have on family and friends. They are all now aware of how important it is to make healthy lifestyle choices. Well done Year 8!
