Kingfishers - Miss Johnston

Today, we had 2 feathery visitors in our class. Crystal and Nugget hatched in school back in April. They have visited us often over the past 4 months so that we can observe their life cycle and learn to look after them during the different stages of their life’s. 🐣🐓 @AcreHall

Thank you to @AHMrsGandMrsS for letting us come into their class this afternoon. We were able to show them the fairy tale hand puppets that we had made in Design and Technology. 🪡🧵 @AcreHall

Today, we had a surprise visitor in class. Toby the tortoise came the see us for life skills. We took it in turns to: feed him, look after him, and we even gave him a bath. 🐢

This afternoon, we had a fantastic camping experience. We played games and completed a nature scavenger hunt. We used our findings to create a beautiful piece of artwork. We also built a tent and even had a delicious picnic! 🏕 @AcreHall

Today we took a trip back in time to the 1980s for our History Day. We had an 80s disco, recreated some Keith Haring murals, and listened to some records. @AcreHall

We have been looking at the effect that different types of fruits has on the setting time of jelly. We found that fresh pineapple interacts with the gelatine in the jelly, and causes it not to set. #ScienceWeek @AcreHall

Over the past few weeks, we have been collecting donations for the @TrussellTrust to help those in need this Christmas season. We are very thankful for the community we have at @AcreHall and all of our parents, staff, and children. We wish everyone a healthy and happy Christmas!

This afternoon we have been making some Super Sculptures based on the work of Henry Moore. 🗿👨🏼‍🎨

We had a brilliant day at @CAFTcharity ! We played in the park, we fed some animals, we explored the woods, and we even toasted marshmallows over a bonfire. We did not want to leave ... it was the best day ever! 🐷🐮🐔@AH_SSC3 @AHMrsGandMrsS
