Canadian Conservative with a libertarian streak. I like to mock the absurd, because that's the correct response. I'm always busy. Avatar by @LaurelinArts

So much of Liberalism is played as a zero sum game where the entire point of the exercise is to leave the people they view as demographically franchised in the dust, forgetting that that demographic probably makes up a majority of voters and has a tolerance point.

I mean... I can explain why. It's easy: The feds are shit at this, and it's deeply outside their mandate. Ontario has a school food program, they feed more kids than the federal plan plans to, at a fraction the cost.
Ryan Turnbull 🇨🇦🇺🇦@TurnbullWhitby

It can’t be tolerated any longer. The Conservatives lecture our government about hungry kids but repeatedly voted against a National School Food program. We are investing $200M per year to feed 400,000 kids at school, while the Canada Child Benefit and lower child care fees put

So authoritative, and yet... Rod is just factually incorrect: The November after Trudeau got his majority in October 2015, Trudeau declined to open the tripartite agreement that banned jets, making the expansion moot. He shot that deal in the crib.
Rod Vanier@RodAVanier

Carney = Trudeau Liberals in 2015? Really? How could you be so uneducated about recent Canadian history. Carney was Governor of the Bank of England and Trudeau was Opposition Leader!

Tracking what that generation did at the times they did it, and mapping their priorities onto the market does more to explain the current situation than any other model.

Hardly. Education was left to rot the minute the Boomers had finished riding the system hard and putting it away wet. Then the money followed them to things like the car market, home ownership, and equities. Now that they're older, it's all about healthcare.

Yeeeeeeah... No. Honestly, the housing bubble is probably one of the hardest economic hurdles to overcome, because something like 80% of lower-upper middle wealth is home equity. Suddenly being upside down in a mortgage is a disaster for mortgage holders.
Robert Barwick@RobbieBarwick

This is the difference between China's economy, and Western casino economies. This is actually, objectively, an amazing ACHIEVEMENT - making housing affordable again in China. It's why its home ownership rate is more than 90%. But it's presented as "erased all gains"🤔

If you are 22, you would have been born when he was in power, and 10~ when he left. I'm not sure that I care about your opinion even at 22, but I absolutely do not care about the political inclinations of someone likely to shove a crayon up their nose.

If you can point to where grocery chains will be "forced to show Canadians where the money actually goes" I'll donate $50 to the charity of your choice.
