Since then, our @sewanyaya team has been making regular visits and supporting the family with funds. We even paid six months’ advance rent for relocation. Sadly the family has still not been able to move
Yesterday, when my team member @rudrakartikeya visited, the girl revealed that mother of one of the accused, Nazia, has been barging into her home in her parents’ absence and threatening her, keeping her hands around the girl’s neck as if she would strangle her
Our team immediately took the girl’s mother to police station, and got a formal complaint filed (attached). Thankfully the police officer was cooperative
I have repeatedly observed that in communal atrocity cases, the victim Hindu family is often left isolated, fearful and without support from immediate neighbourhood. In contrast, accused’s side tends to stick together, even to shield perpetrators.
Ideally, people should stand with Satya and Right above all identities. Sadly, concept of Ummah has poisoned this principle
This is why i follow up with victim families for long, even years

This is my home in Kashmir right on the banks of River Jhelum. The place I took my first steps, spoke my first words. Gone since the 1990 Genocide. A Muslim family lives there illegally. I have tried for 2.5 years, submitted all papers to the Govt but every time, local officials say 'No home at that address'.

सीसीटीवी फुटेज में महिला एक मुस्लिम युवक के साथ जाती दिखी
देहरादून के चूना भट्टा क्षेत्र (रिस्पना नदी किनारे) स्थित एक खाली खंडहर में 26 वर्षीय शिवानी अरोड़ा का शव मिलने से इलाके में दहशत है। मृतका की आंख पर गहरा घाव और नाखूनों के निशान बताते हैं कि मौत से पहले संघर्ष हुआ था।
पुलिस के हाथ एक अहम CCTV फुटेज लगा है। शव मिलने से कुछ समय पहले शिवानी को एक अज्ञात मुस्लिम युवक के साथ इलाके में घूमते हुए देखा गया है।
पुलिस को इस संदिग्ध युवक की तस्वीर मिल गई है और उसकी सरगर्मी से तलाश की जा रही है।
