@OpenAI Faster, cheaper, still powerful. That’s what actually drives adoption. Mini models are quietly becoming the real workhorses but I believe the majority still want

@gailcweiner Probably both. Safety tradeoffs affect UX, but competition also raised the bar. The real challenge is balancing usefulness without breaking trust.

I wonder if OpenAI finally realise how much damage they did with their poorly implemented safety project or they still think it was just strong competitors that ate their user base?

$GOOGL has reportedly begun privately testing a Gemini app for Mac, moving closer to a dedicated desktop client to compete with ChatGPT and Claude. The push would give Gemini a more direct desktop presence as Google leans further into AI developer and productivity workflows.

@bindureddy Totally. Locking into Anthropic-only code is a trap now GPT-5.4 already beats Opus on speed + cost for many reasoning & agent tasks. Rewiring for multi-model or at least OpenAI fallback is the move. Who's already migrated their agent stack?

If your code can only work with Anthropic models, you will be stuck in a local maxima 🤷‍♀️ You need to rewire your code base for GPT 5.4 thinking It’s cheaper and more performant than Opus for some tasks

@milesdeutscher Yeah, the AI bubble warnings are loud analysts calling it the biggest economic risk ever, with capex dwarfing revenue, potential $20T+ wealth wipeout, and recession risk if it pops hard. You buying the crash narrative or still all in on the long term upside?

@Prathkum That’s a feature and a flaw. Tools like ChatGPT boost confidence, but without pushback, they can also reinforce mistakes. Real value needs friction.

Jensen Huang says all future software will be agentic — because why would you build dumb software? Every company will use a mix of open models they fine-tune, closed models they rent, and specialists they contract "your job isn't to do the work, it's to get the work done"

@SawyerMerritt Jensen Huang laying it out straight on orbital datacenters: radiation only cooling means massive surfaces, but space is vast and NVIDIA's already radiation hardened with CUDA in orbit. Exploring space datacenter architecture years away, but he's got time.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in new interview on orbital datacenters: "The challenge of course is that cooling, you can't take advantage of conduction and convection, so you can only use radiation, and radiation requires very large surfaces, but that's not an impossible things to solve. There's a lot of space in space. We're going to go explore it. We're already radiation hardened. We have Cuda in satellites around the world. In the meantime, we're going to explore what is the architecture of datacenters look like in space. It'll take years, but that's ok. I got time." via @theallinpod

wow, i didn't expect this from elon but he basically admitted two big things: "china is leading the AI race globally, and google is leading it in the west" yes, in the end, open-source AI wins. open-source models will only be 3–4 months behind the top labs -- but they have a bigger base, grow faster, and hold the stronger long-term edge
