Take away these things I might find time to parent differently.

If the person who found #NicolaBulley's dog did just tie her to the bench & walk off, then this was an incredibly irresponsible thing to do, leaving the dog vulnerable, not least to dog thieves. Keep a dog in your company until they're back with the owner/friends/animal services.
