These researchers are also lifting sentences from other scholars' papers. They have tried rewording it slightly, but it's still too close to the original sentence. Michael Gerlich's sentence: "The proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools has transformed numerous aspects of daily life..." Their sentence: "The rapid proliferation of Large Language Models (LLMs) has fundamentally transformed each aspect of our daily lives..." This is not advisable.

At the end of the first Star Wars sequel trilogy films an entire planet (which has apparently been the whole focus of the First Order's plans so far) gets blown up. But it then just makes 0 difference to their threat or capacity in the other films. The stakes never make sense.

@lastpositivist Less that they would not feel included in "all people" but rather "they've given me a special callout, so maybe its worth chucking in an application." But equally i am also called out in some of these and it has never induced me to apply to something i was uncertain about.

@AJPrincep So the thought is the presumptive reader is a member of aforementioned groups who would not think they are included in the all people encouraged to apply if not for this? Fwiw as a member of some such I have literally never modified my behaviour based on the presence of such.

This is kind of interesting right? Like the implicature seems to be that there's some risk someone (maybe the presumptive reader?) might think that minorities etc aren't included under "all individuals"? Because it's otherwise actually saying nothing particularly to those groups!
