On May 9–10, 1977, a remarkable late-season snowstorm hit New England. At BHO: 5.0" snow on May 9 2.8" snow on May 10 Both set daily snowfall records. An estimated 70 mph NE wind gust was also recorded during a power outage. New England weather never stops surprising us. 🌷❄️



Across the US the dominant weather pattern since December has been mild/warm in the West and cold/cool in the East, especially the Northeastern US. Our AI model suggests this same pattern of warm West/cool East (but mostly Northeast) could last through the end of May.

@Tom_Wachs never saw anything like this on water. This was just a little pond in a depression outside of Horicon.
