A lot of people don’t see how bad this is! If a two terms former Governor and minister of the FCT is going through this, well….
Assab Aichatou Djibril@AAD_EL_Rufai

Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s doctor was at the ICPC today to follow up on medical tests recently taken by his patient. The doctor was prevented from seeing him by operatives who insisted that the doctor must present written approval by their chairman. This is a brazen violation of an explicit court order that Mallam Nasir @elrufai must be allowed unfettered access to his medical doctors. In addition, I, his wife, brought his dinner as usual at about 7pm today, 15 May 2026. ICPC officials also denied me access, saying that they would not accept delivery of dinner after 6:30pm. This is just as bad as denying his right to medical visitation and we will not stand for it.

I know why, but it still feels weird when the only time you truly feel like yourself, focused, and ready for any task is after 12 midnight. 😭

Your point is valid, and I get the concern about CV inflation, which isn’t the case in our subject. For the latter part, I see what you did there. 😆 I can’t really comment, I’d just assume you prolly have 100 reasons for it: like being routine, having them covered by similar or superior credentials, and so on. That’s also Ok. Regards.😎

Thanks for sharing. This is how to present certificates, not just mention ‘Advanced certificates’ and that was my point. For someone like me that hasn’t seen the CV, you don’t expect me to be impressed by ‘advanced certificates’ from some UK university or institution because I have done over a 100 of these courses, some even compulsory at work. You can’t find any of it on my CV. You’re absolutely right; I’m outdated, and I will have to consider that. 😄 Probably why I keep getting rejections lately.

What exactly is “Advanced Certificate”? This is just CV stuffing. There’s nothing in this to suggest he’s the best fit for the role.
INSIDE YOBE@Inside_Yobe

At just 46, Yobe's Acting SSG, Dr. Mohammed Goje, has an impressive and remarkable CV. 1. Lecturer, Unimaid 2. Lecturer, YSU, 3. Officer, Nigerian Prison Service, 4. Executive Secretary, Yobe SEMA 5. 1. Executive Course on National Disaster Management for Nigeria, Univ. Of Bournemouth. 2. Management course on emergency planning, and preparedness, Coventry University. 3. Study tour on Local Governance for crisis response and recovery, JICA, Japan. 4. Certificate in Health in Humanitarian crisis from LSHTM. 5. Certificate in Anti-microbial resistance in food Chain, Univ. Of Nottingham. 6. PG Diploma in Tropical Medicine, Surveillance and Immunization, James Lind Institute, Switzerland. 7. Certificate in One health: Connecting Human, Animals and Environment. University of Basel. 8. Executive/Leadership courses at Harvard Business School. 9. Certificate in Leading Risk in Organizations from LSE, London. The “Advanced” something that’s flying are not what is entailed in his CV, it stemmed from one of the Daily Trust’s article that surfaced last week where they summarized some of the certifications as such. So saying, “people enrol in a 4-hour online course and add it to their CV” sounds like dismissal, and this is outdated coming from you, Engr. Cos you completely ignore how modern professional training works globally. As far as the providers are credible, relevant and reputable, it is not wrong anywhere to add evidences of continuous professional development, exposure, upskillng or reskilling efforts, and competency updates to your CV.

@HarounMuhammed People enrol in a 4-hour online course and add it to their CV. Because what are all these “advanced certificates” I’m seeing? Certificate in what?

If you were to spend thousands of dollars and travel from Damaturu to the US to attend an intensive weeklong executive education program at Harvard, I am sure you wouldn’t see it as an exaggeration when a national daily associates you with the institution. I also doubt if LSE would simply disappear from your profile at a remarkable point if you were to attend a week-long on-campus training there. If we are being objective, the national dailies were not wrong to carry that headline in any way.

I understand we are in a country where poor quality projects are common, and as a citizen, you reserve the right to demand transparency, especially for a multibillion-naira public project like this in the state. But this your conclusion should come after professional assessments, and not mere outrage. One wind is NOT “just” without taking into consideration the intensity and other factors that may have contributed to this, aside your assumptions. You deliberately reduced the power of what wind is capable of destroying and amplified the damage to prove a point. This is wrong. Yes, investing N5b in a stadium, if that figure is even accurate, is huge, but that does not automatically guarantee that the structure must withstand every natural force (I wish). I think a more objective criticism to have come from a “stakeholder“ like you is to call for proper investigation first, rather than this immediate and absolute condemnation of a government that is working soooo hard for the state’s development.
AL-SIDDIQ, III@Alsiddiq_10

Over N5 billion was invested in reconstructing and upgrading the 27 August Stadium, Damaturu. It takes just one wind to expose the entire sub-standard project. This is a national embarrassment and a painful reminder of how public funds are squandered without accountability.
